About the House of Music in Vienna

The House of Music Vienna is an interactive museum of sound, music and Vienna's musical heritage. It occupies the former home of Otto Nicolai, founder of the Vienna Philharmonic, and spreads its exhibits across four floors in the city centre.

This is no traditional museum: here you engage with music directly. The first floor tells the story of the Vienna Philharmonic, another explores how sound works and how we hear it, and a further floor celebrates the city's great composers, from Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven to Strauss and Mahler. You can even step up and conduct the Vienna Philharmonic as a Virtual Conductor.

Designed for all ages and musical backgrounds, the House of Music balances cultural insight with playful discovery.
