Schönbrunn Zoo - Animal House Hours

Not every building keeps the zoo's full hours. Plan the indoor houses with this in mind.

All other animal houses: Close 30 minutes before the zoo.

Schönbrunn Zoo - Best Time to Visit

Go midweek in summer: Summer weekends get very busy, so a weekday gives you more room at the popular enclosures.

Don't rule out winter: Many enclosures are indoors, so a cold day still makes for a good visit.

Allow half a day: That is the minimum to see the main areas without rushing.

Schönbrunn Zoo - Train Timings

Both trains run daily from mid-March to early November.

Transfer train: Every 30 minutes, starting at 10:00 AM from the Elephant House and 10:15 AM from the Tirolerhof.
